    Japan in a Jiffy

    Japan 14

Japan – a mix of the ultra-modern and traditional. One of the most intriguing countries I’ve been to, with a very unique culture and a fantastic food scene. I had the chance to visit Japan last year during Thanksgiving.

We reached Tokyo mid afternoon. As soon as we landed I noticed how everything was extremely clean and people moved politely in queues following the rules. We took a train to our hotel in Shinagawa and it was noticeable that no one in the train made eye contact with others or conversed loudly. There was no touching and even to hand money to  cab drivers, one is asked to put it on a tray (and this is in the pre corona world ;)).

    Cinque Terre, Italy

    Cinque Terre 8

This pandemic has made me appreciate all the travels I have been able to do in the past and the beautiful countries I’ve visited. Italy is no doubt on top of the list of my favorite countries. The food, the wine, the language, the terrain, the beaches – everything is just so mesmerizing and looks like it’s right out of a  painting. It’s quite unfortunate how hard they’ve been hit and what they’re going through. My thoughts and prayers are with the country and I will definitely be making a trip to Italy to support their tourism industry once all this is over.

I visited Cinque Terre as part of my 10 day Italy trip 2 years ago. Read about my travels in Venice and Florence as well. Cinque Terre was my third stop during my Italian adventure. It’s a string of colorful seaside villages on the Italian Riviera and has 5 main villages.

    Florence, Italy in 2 Days

    Florence 23Hi there travelers,

Sorry this took a while. I promise I will try and be more regular with my blogposts. I am still working on my blog series about my travels in Italy. If you haven’t yet, read my blogpost on Venice to learn a little about the city and what I did there. My next stop was Florence,  one of my favorite cities in Italy. I just loved all the history and culture associated with it. I’ve become obsessed with the Medici’s and I binge watched the entire series (Medici: Masters of Florence) on Netflix before I went here. That made my trip even more enjoyable as I was able to relate to the history and art associated with each place I visited and really appreciate the context and underlying stories. The Medici’s were one of the richest families and  Florentine bankers who contributed significantly to the development of the city through their patronage and sponsorship of the arts.

    Istanbul Travel Guide

    Istanbul 12

    Hello Travelers,

How are you all doing? I’ve been having a really fun summer traveling and enjoying my time here in San Francisco. Finally, I had some free time to work on my travel posts. So, I had a chance to visit this mystical and beautiful city last year and I wanted to share my travel memories with you. The city which used to be known as Constantinople amazed me with it’s beautiful architecture and hospitable people. I stayed right in Taksim Square which is the center of the city. It was pretty convenient to get to any of the attractions from here via taxi’s.

    Road to Hana, Hawaii

    Road to Hana 9

    Hi there my fellow travelers,

Been a while since I wrote a travel post. I had the chance to visit the beautiful island of Maui last month and I loved it even more. I got the chance to collab with Valley Isle Excursions and go on a fun road to Hana trip. If you are not comfortable driving on the windy hawaiian roads to hana, I would suggest you book a tour and enjoy the views. You also get a chance to meet some cool new people and have fun along the way instead of worrying about driving. The tour company was extremely professional , timely and our driver was very knowledgeable.

    Amsterdam Travel Guide

    Amsterdam 39

    Hi Fellow Travelers,

Hope you all have been good. I have been insanely busy with my new job responsibilities and haven’t been able to post in a while. However, since a number of my friends were asking me about my euro trip, I decided to spend some time and write about my visit to Amsterdam. Needless to say, I loved the city. It has everything you need in a small parameter and you can bike to pretty much everywhere. The quaint suburban dutch towns within a small driving distance are each unique and beautiful in their own way. All in all, Amsterdam is a place I would move to in a heartbeat given a choice.

    The history of Ephesus, Turkey

    Ephesus 22

    Hello Travelers,

    Happy New Year…!!!

Hope you all had a wonderful 2016 and have an even better 2017. I had a great year with a lot of fun travel adventures, brought a new house, got a promotion 🙂 and I hope the good luck continues onto the new year. I visited Turkey last December and Ephesus was my first stop. The city is about an hour’s drive from Izmir (you can fly from Istanbul to the Izmir airport). We stayed in Selçuk city which is near the ruins and has a number of hotels. Though it was really cold this time of the year in Turkey, the advantage of a visit now was that the sites were not as crowded and I could capture some beautiful shots of the sites.
